The Origin of the Gilman name is found all the way back into Kylmyn whose name was pronounced Cilmin or Gilman in present time, he is the one that started the Gilman name, and he is also the one the myth is told about. Cilmin lived around 1584 as it is when the myth took place. Cilmin was the leader of one of the 15 noble tribes of North Wales.
